Delhi Fashion Week announces list of participating designers

An innovative format to match the global standards in fashion, the Delhi Fashion Week announced the participated designers, who will showcase their talent at India’s most luxurious and cutting edge fashion platform. The fashion event is endorsed by the Fashion Foundation of India, the not for profit organization founded by the leading designers of the country. The Foundation is committed to promote Indian fashion and assist designer in their business initiatives.

Announcing the designers, Meera Ali, Spokesperson, Fashion Foundation of India, said, “The designers at the Delhi Fashion Week have been stringently selected by an extremely eminent jury from a wide diaspora of designers across the country. The selected upcoming, emerging, and established designers are the finest and most creative talent in the country. The Fashion Foundation of India will work closely with the participating designers to enable them to best present their collection to the buyers and the media.”

The participated designers are Alecca Carrano, Anamika Khanna, Atsu, Azara, James Ferreira, Gaurav Gupta, Meera & Muzaffar Ali, Malini Ramani, Preeti Chandra, Priyadarshini Rao, Rahul Reddy, Rajvi Mohan, Rathore Jodhpur, Abhijeet Khanna, Rohit Bal, Savio Jon, Tarun Tahiliani, Varun Sardana and Vineet Bahl among others. In accessories designers, there are Amrita Hans, Curio Cottage, Deepti Sudhindra, Janavi, Meera Mahadevia, Nivedita – Swarup, Pashma and Yasmine among others.

Highlighting the selected talent, Sumeet Nair, Consultant, Delhi Fashion Week, said, “The Delhi Fashion Week will set the benchmark in terms of talent, production, shows, and the event as a whole. The final list of designers are a mix of renowned designers, who have put Indian fashion on the global map and upcoming designers, who have the potential to make a mark in the world of fashion in the coming future. The fashion week is a creative, cutting edge, and luxurious platform and along with the talent participating, it will surely be a successful and memorable event.”

The upcoming fashion event will take place from October 14 to October 18, 2008 and will project the vibrant, dynamic, and confident face of ‘India Forward’ showcasing ingenuity in design and talent from across the country.
