Designers Ashmita Marwa, Ruchi Mehta, Sudhir & Tapash created magic at LFW

Bohemian luxe was the look of Ashmita Marwa's collection titled "Gaia – A Revelation". Working around long lean silhouettes in cotton, linen and mull; the creations had an inspiration of Turkish styling, with touches of Indian tradition. Splashed with kalamkari, the colours were reminiscent of vibrant Turkish markets where red, mustard, yellow, olive and earth tones blended with ivory, beige and tea for stylish day wear garments that will give the wearer great freedom in fashion.

The interesting hip belts with attached side pockets were an ideal accessory used with jumpsuits, skirts and dresses while the kalamkari print appeared occasionally on yokes, pockets, bibs and dresses. The crinkled fabrics, at times crushed carefully for asymmetric tunics and skirts added to the summer silhouettes. Ashmita Marwa's Gaia collection will be a great addition to wardrobes for those muggy summer days.

Ruchi Mehta also brought style and substance with her feminine creations. Beautiful feminine creations were the offering from Ruchi Mehta's Salt label. Smocking was the favoured detailing which appeared on shaded dresses and kurtas along with delicate cutwork for multi panel pastel bubble tunics. Rouching was discreetly done for kurtas which glittered with pearl and sequins while shredded clusters of fabrics on a dusty pink silk ensemble was an interesting effect. The colours were muted with brown, dusty pink, brown, grey, sand, silver, mauve, beige and a hint of black for chiffon, and silk which played with layers to make elegant drop waist dresses or tunics with simple silhouettes. Embroidery was in silk with pebble and palm motifs. The look spelt comfort all the way and was just right for those hot summer days when one wants to relax stylishly.

Sudhir & Tapash created a fashionable graphic craft range of garments. The line called "The Journey" from the designer duo, took the audience through garments which were a great mix of Indo-western styling for saris and dresses all in simple clean silhouettes.

Inspired by the lovely ancient craft of Pipli the paneled garments with graphic touches were beautifully portrayed for summer wear. Colour was a muted serene story that added to the elegance of the creations. Detailing revolved around appliqués, or multi coloured scales for collars and edging on tiers or geometric patches. The silhouettes were simple smocks, dresses or shifts in silk and crepe and one solitary mini kaftan. The saris reflected the same mood of the dresses in graphic panels. For comfortable lounging in or out of the house the Stae collection will win votes
