ANUSHREE REDDY, AMOH BY JADE AND SVA SHOWCASED DRAMATIC FASHION AT LAKMÉ FASHION WEEK WINTER FESTIVE 2016

“The Wedding Chronicle” by Anushree Reddy was a treat for the eyes of any bride-to-be at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016. It was everything that a modern-day girl dreamt of when it comes to how her wedding attire ought to be.  The collection drew its inspiration from the new-age bride who redefines the concept of bridal trousseau and one who embraces modern and minimalist glamour with a classic twist.

Sticking to her signature style, the bridal couturier recreated the grandeur of weddings, replete with the roller coaster of emotions, excitement and anxiety that a girl feels as she enters a new phase in her life. The fun, bright colours gelled perfectly with the shiny, shimmery accents to make the outfits dreamy and fabulous.

The elegant, flowing lehengas glided down the runway in the designer’s signature pure raw silks. The collection blossomed in shades of tangerine, sunset yellow, Rani pink and fiery reds. The use of gold and silver embroidery added a regal touch to the designs.

A mustard embroidered lehenga, teamed with a golden choli and pale pink dupatta with embroidered edges will brighten up the Sangeet ceremony. A blush pink floral printed lehenga when worn with an innovative one-shoulder choli will be the ideal choice for Mehendi ceremony.

Bollywood beauty Shilpa Shetty looked ethereal as she walked down the ramp to the foot tapping beats of the dhol in a ravishing red zardosi lehenga and golden embroidered choli with tassels completed with a matching ornate dupatta.

“The Wedding Chronicle” by Anushree Reddy was a visual extravaganza, which echoed her design philosophy of creating elaborate silhouettes infused with subtle prints and surprising embellishments. The ensembles were a perfect fit for wedding trousseau and would definitely make the bride-to-be feel like a royal princess on her big day.

THE “ITVARA” COLLECTION FROM AMOH BY JADE ENCOURAGED THE AUDIENCE TO EMBRACE THE SIMPLE PLEASURES OF LIFE AT LAKME FASHION WEEK WINTER/FESTIVE 2016

The stunning collection “Itvara” from Amoh by JADE is designers Monica’s and Karishma’s new luxury prét label. The brand urged the audience to break free from the shackles of unrealistic expectations, and embrace life unconditionally, at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016.  Inspired by the idiosyncratic life of a wanderer, the collection explored the exquisite allure of Mother Nature, found in simple things such as the beauty of a blooming flower, melodious chirp of birds and the cool, crisp wind.

Traditional handloom fabrics such as natural silk, linen and cotton, were beautifully carved into feminine silhouettes to resonate an aura of soulfulness and classic charm. The ensembles boasted of an extensive colour palette that included shades of beige, ivory, black and red, with hints of gold and silver. Distinctively modern elephants and peacock motifs adorned the garments.

The spirit of wanderlust was reflected in the breezy, comfortable silhouettes created for women with a strong sense of individuality, who like to express their thoughts through their sartorial choices.  The season’s biggest and hottest trend - the palazzo, made its presence felt through several head-turning designs.

Tinsel town’s latest sensation, Pooja Hegde, graced the ramp in a navy blue side cowl palazzo and a tank top. Accessorised with a broad belt and silver jewellery, the ensemble had a Boho chic feel to it.

Monica and Karishma presented “Itvara” from Amoh by JADE, the new luxury prét label that embraced the beautiful imperfections of nature and scored high on creating a bold fashion statement for the wearer.

“MON PASSÉ” FROM SVA BY SONAM AND PARAS MODI WAS A MODERN REVIVAL OF ANCESTRAL ART AT LAKME FASHION WEEK WINTER/FESTIVE 2016

Designer duo Sonam and Paras Modi of the label “SVA”, breathed new life into the ancestral art of the French locality of Montparnasse with their collection titled “Mon Passé”, at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016. Taking inspiration from the street art and the vintage yet chic feel that the region has to offer, the couturiers captured the beauty and elegance of the era gone by.

The petite and pretty Prachi Desai of the movie Azhar, opened the show in a charcoal black golden embroidered lehenga and choli with cold shoulder and an attached flowing cape.

“Mon Passé” tells the story of the women of Montparnasse who, despite being confined to the norms of the time, were still open to all that captured the essence of the word “Freedom”. Crafted around a beautiful colour palette of beige, ink blue, wine red and emerald green with a hint of gold, the designers chose an array of fabrics including colourful and metallic brocades, silks, and other natural fabrics, to add glamour to the garments.

The collection featured elegant occasion wear such as embroidered floor length anarkalis and lehengas for women and bandhgala jackets for men. The silhouettes reflected the romance and tastefulness that the label is associated with. The structured styles, dramatic drapes and cut-out details emphasised the classy edginess.

“Mon Passé” from SVA by Sonam and Paras Modi translated the allure of the architecture and creativity of Montparnasse into bespoke occasion wear. The collection, which oozed sophistication and grandeur, will surely be the ideal showstopper for a poised, romantic women and stylish men.
