DLF Emporio promotes and encourages budding designers at the DLF Emporio Design Awards 2014-15

DLF Emporio, one of India’s finest luxury destinationsannouncedthe winners of the third edition of DLF Emporio Design Awards 2015. The finale of this year’srenowned hunt in the field of fashion along with a gleaming award ceremony was hosted at DLF Emporio, New Delhi on 18th February 2015.
The DLF Emporio Design Awards honours young, innovative and emerging talent in the field of fashion design. This event further resonates with DLF Emporio’s aim toidentify and nurturetalent and help them chase their dreams of becoming one of India’s leadingdesigners.

A discerning jury consisting of stalwarts, such as ace designer SuneetVarma, classic fashion designer AnjuModi, renowned TV presenter and top fashion stylist AmbikaAnand, style icon and Vogue fashion features directorBandana Tewari and Senior Vice President of DLF Emporio and DLF Promenade, DinazMadhukarannounced the winners at the ceremony.
The theme for this edition of DLF Emporio Design Awards is to celebrate India’s Rich Heritage and the incorporation of the Mughal era in today’s fashion, such as the design elements of Jadau, Filigree or Paisley in the accessory, using the Mughal paintings and art in prints or reinventing the Anarkalis.
The 2015 chapter of DLF Emporio Design Awards saw entries from International and Indian colleges. The budding designers hailed from institutes such as Pearl Fashion Academy, NIFT, Amity University, G.D Goenka School of Fashion, J.D Institute of Fashion, IIFT, Indian Institute of Gems &Jewellery, Laxmibai College and Raffles Millennium International amongst others.
The winners of ‘Student Designer of the Year 2014-15’ were:
• Apparel Category went to SonaliSrivastava from NIFT, Hyderabad.
• Western Apparel Category went to MahimaMahajan from New Delhi
• Accessories Category went to Swati Gupta from Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery, New Delhi
• Runner up Accessories Category went to AnkurTyagi, Pearl Academy, Jaipur
The People’s Choice award with more than 8000 likes and shares of the design on theirfacebook page went to Tanya Bansal from Pearl Academy, Delhi
To launch the start of a spectacular career, the winners gets a chance to intern with a leading Indian designer and also the opportunity to design and showcasetheir collection at the DLF Emporio Luxury Shopping Festival in 2015.
