Ajjay Mehrra becomes International Designer of the Year 2016

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, Eleanor Laing presented the award to the Ajjay Mehrra, the only Indian designer to have won this award.  Also present were several MPs

of the British Parliament

including Keith Vaz, Chairman of the Home Affairs Committee. 

 

Having dressed various eminent personalities, including Prime Minister Modi and various Bollywood and Hollywood stars, Ajjay Mehrra is incredibly proud to bring he award back home and hopes to continue doing great things with Men's Fashion

, especially in India. 

 

Ajjay Mehrra also holds a Guinness World Record from 1995 as the only designer ever to host a fashion show on a moving train.

Tina Ahuja makes headway with Emerging Actress of the Year Award

Tina Ahuja, who made her Hindi film debut with the romcom ‘Second Hand Husband’, alongside Gippy Grewal and Dharmendra was awarded ‘Emerging Actress of the Year,’ at the India Leadership Conclave Awards 2015. Acting prowess and promising career were two important criterias for selection, for which an eminent jury voted for her.

 

Actor Govinda, who was also present alongside Tina for the evening went ecstatic, as this was Tina’s first film award and he said, “I am proud of Tina and the fact that she connected so well with the audience, despite this being her first film. She always had the spark and it was well appreciated by the jury members as well.”

 

Speaking on the occasion, Tina said, “It’s an honour to be selected for this award. I am very meticulous when it comes to projects and the script. Director and the right people are what I look forward to, while selecting a film."
