A graduate from the prestigious National Institute of Fashion Technology, Raakesh launched his eponymous label in 2007. He focuses on glamorous and intricately constructed clothes in the prêt, diffusion and couture categories.

Over his five years in the business, Raakesh has covered diverse grounds. From international events like Fashion Coterie in New York (which he does every season) Miami Fashion Week (2009) to Paris Tranoi (2009), and the acclaimed St. Andrew’s Charity Fashion Show in Scotland (2008 and ’09), to selling in cities like New York, London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Milan, Rome, Dubai, Johannesburg, and Tokyo, the past four years have firmly established Raakesh as a name to watch out for.

While his attention to detail and mastery over embroideries and draping has become a visible signature, his brand has continued to grow exponentially over this short period. He recently opened a by-appointment-only couture salon in Hyderabad’s swank Banjara Hills area, He is opening his first flagship store in Delhi mid 2014 and is planning a similar boutique in Mumbai and Chandigarh.

Raakesh became the youngest ever to participate in a couture week. He launched his first ever accessories and costume jewellery label – Jewels by Raakesh Agarvwal in WIFW S/S-12– which are now marketed worldwide. This announcement is followed closely by his decision to launch a men’s line, as well as his first flagship, which he plans to open this year.

A favourite of Bollywood style setters, his creations are seen on everyone from leading ladies like Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, and Lara Dutta, to promising talents such as Genalia D’Souza, Asin Thottumkal, Sonakshi Sinha, Nargis Fakhri and Jacqueline Fernandez. Encouraged with the support from Movie world, Raakesh is planning to venture in to Movie styling in a big way. Apart from this, beautiful evening gowns worn by Pantaloon Femina Miss India -2012 all twenty finalists are done by Raakesh.
