At least this was what the situation looked like after going through the menu at ‘The Grill’ restaurant, Intercontinental Grand, New Delhi. The occasion was The Canadian Lobster festival to prop up the restaurant. According to the Chef Kartik Sharma, the culture of the ‘lobster’ is very new to the Indian market, so what better way to join hands with French Chef Francis Luziniere and promote a whole new trend in the food sector. ‘Since season is not good for the hospitality sector, we introduced a special lobster menu’ furthered the manager.

The response to the new delicacy has been very encouraging, especially around dinnertime, when even lobster aficionados have had a few good things to say. The menu broadens over a wide variety of appetizers, soups and main courses. Some of the fastest selling items include the ‘Lobster thermidor’ and the ‘surf n turf,’ a quite peculiar yet interesting combination of beef and lobster. The dishes include many ingredients especially flown in from abroad.

There is definitely a good scope for those who want to try the lobster for the first time as well as for those who have already developed a taste for it. According to the chef the Canadian lobsters are sweeter and denser as compared to the Indian ones. This provides a substantial meal and justice to the price paid.
