It was an experiment which made my senses ecstatic…the music was echoing every where; but not a single instrument was around! Hard to believe? No, it wasn’t the music within me that I’m talking about but the music that was all around me, which slowly penetrated my soul, and everybody present there.
Jazz experimental electronic concert by Michael Schiefel was a treat for the ears. Organized by Max Mueller Bhavan, Goethe-Institute, the concert was one of a kind. Michael Schiefel, the Berlin based artist was dazzling the music lovers at Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi.
The music was unique as Michael experimented with his distinctive virtuoso voice, combining it with loop machines and other electronic devices. In conjunction with his original compositions and lyrics, the dynamic mixture of vocals and electronics produced strikingly unique ways of expressing passion, joy and alienation. The best of them all being ‘black crow in the blue sky’ from his latest album ‘Don’t Touch My Animals’, symbolizing the wandering nature of soul. There was something spiritual and intellectual about his music and lyrics.
Mesmerizing is one word that describes it in crux.
