Raisons, a brand synonymous with penchant for immaculate luxury handlooms has come out with their new collection of hand-woven chanderi sarees by ‘Gaurav Rai’. Royalty, history and culture weave into these most luxurious sarees bringing new refinement in the art of dressing. Evocatively feminine and timeless style, Raisons create innovative ideas with tradition in saree weaves to create elegant and exquisite creations.
This collection of chanderi hand-woven cotton sarees, includes contemporary design patterns with resham borders in bright fluorescent and vivid colours. The patterns range from parrot print and figurative motifs; a virtual ode to dying loom and a brilliant fusion of tradition, fashion and art. The clever use of threadwork lends a distinct touch to these sarees. The crux of the Chanderi sarees is the use of gold threads to weave the motifs. Keeping in mind the creativity, the sarees are known for their sheer texture, light-weight and characteristic glossy transparency.
Raisons have also designed hand-woven unstitched fabrics in Chanderi cotton which are derived from these sarees itself giving a re-interpretation of the skills in weaving; exhibiting delicate craftsmanship. The designs are crafted especially by weavers from traditional and weaving centres of India. The sensibilities of the artisans and craftsmen combine the traditional with the modern, embracing designs which are loved by all generations.
“We have adapted traditional designs to make them simple, sophisticated and distinctly contemporary, thereby creating a fresh new aesthetic that is both indigenous and modern. These sarees and unstitched fabric are much coveted items that are a must in the treasure trove of every Indian woman and the only place to find them is at ‘Raisons’. Fads come and go, tradition is a staple.” says, Gaurav Rai, designer and promoter of Raisons.
