An essential adornment in Indian weddings for centuries, Anju Modi picked ethnic gold jewellery from Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers for her show on DAY 2 of the Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers India Couture Week 2014.

She was inspired by Manikarnika, who is a woman of the past, reborn in the present.

A woman of today yet her heart still belongs to the centuries past; Manikarnika’s reincarnation is a re-visitation, an ode to what existed before.

With revival at its crux, Manikarnika is an exploration of the age-old craft and ancient techniques. The embroideries are derived from the architecture, with the paintings of the Ajanta-Ellora caves as perfect muses to the artwork and details.

The color palette mirrors the earthy, sepia tones like sand, old rose reminiscent of the centuries past. The rich jewel tones of burgundy, ruby, emerald, add the plushness of luxury.

Heavy bridal chokkers, kadas in innovative designs and earrings in ethnic and traditional gold showcased the skill of Indian craftsmanship and speak of the opulence of Indian weddings. The designer artistically paired neckpieces around the models hair, a brilliant display of the creativity with which Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers’ bridal pieces can be paired with couture. The elaborate neckpieces can also be worn to adorn the waist as kamarbandh.

Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers has been known for their innovative designs that reflect a modern outlook, while in keeping with Indian tradition of the art of jewellery making.

They also showcased the grand meenakari necklace in ethnic gold. The jewellery included exclusive pieces that have been designed by Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers very own, designer extraordinaire, Praveen Goel, CEO, Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers.

The sparkle of ethnic gold left the audience enchanted as the models showcased jewellery that perfectly blends tradition and modernity.
