Schwarzkopf Professional unveils Spring-Summer 2009 hair looks

Schwarzkopf Professional unveiled their Essential Looks “111 Edition: Part 1” collection in New Delhi as part of celebrating their 111 years of existence and innovation. The international hair care major held a two days extravaganza in the Capital, where Najeeb Ur Rehman, National Technical Head – Schwarzkopf Professional & Asif Rajan, Owner – Asif the Salon, Trainer and Celebrity Hairdresser unveiled the collection and demonstrate how the edgy styles were created on first day.

The Collection takes its inspiration from the world of haute couture and is inspired from the fashion weeks of London, Paris, Milan and New York. The hair care giant features four distinctive hair styles this season. The last decade has established Essential Looks as a common international hair language of fashion motivated style, designed to gift hair professionals with the essence of seasonal inspiration.

Speaking about the Essential Looks Show,  Murali Sundar, Country Manager - Schwarzkopf Professional, India said, “Essential Looks boasts of a whole decade of stylish cuts and colours that have accurately captured the fashion moods and it has never strayed from its primary purpose of giving the clients usable and accessible interpretations from the catwalk and this time is no different. All this makes Schwarzkopf Professional a trendsetter in the Indian grooming scene.”

Essential Looks 111 Edition: Part 1 Collection is presented in four fashion moods: Glamazon, Sunday Best, 80’s Dance and Rounded Form.

Glamazon: Exotic and confident, cool gets hot with this smouldering trend direction. Blending the sophisticated sexiness of the 70s with a safari vibe, these looks are about high-octane glamour and statuesque beauty, both on men and women. The look is driven by the season’s trends for safari tones and styles, tribal adornments.

Sunday Best: Well bred yet experimental, ladylike dressing is given a rebellious edge this season with unconventional pairings such as off-kilter frills, clashing prints and colours, and roughened prom dresses. Here, a dressing-up approach also applies to the hair, with over sized bows, netting and ribbon making up-dos look prettily offbeat. Elsewhere, unexpected colours are placed amidst quirky cuts, while the debutante vibe makes itself known with pampered condition and shine.

80s Dance: Dancemania is coming to town this season, with hair and fashion guaranteed to work up a sweat. Lycra, sporty layering and lots of neon herald an 80s revival, while luxe workout-inspired clothing such as crystal-studded joggers, grown-up leotards and sweat shirting teamed with sheer dresses present a contemporary take on exercise that’s feminine and beautiful. Athletic yet feminine, this look is all about youthful exuberance.

Rounded Form: Inspired by futuristic and architectural styling, a more rounded shape emerges with experimental placements of drape and volume, and body-morphing garments. In hair, this translates into styles that hug the head and neck, curving playfully into napes and nooks. Rounded edges and bold tones are finished with lustre and gloss for a futuristic feel. Modern minimalism meets the new natural.

“This year again we have imbibed the extravagance and chic of the fashion industry to deliver desirable, wearable, & gorgeous hairstyles,” said Najeeb Ur Rehman, National Technical Head, Schwarzkopf Professional at the event.

On second day , Najeeb Ur Rehman demonstrated how the Schwarzkopf Professional Spas’ rise above all other hair related treatments and proves to be the most effective and intense one by strengthening the hair follicles, and revitalizing the roots. The newly introduced Schwarzkopf Professional Hair spa will help to build the strength of each hair follicle giving the hair a stronger and a more bouncy look. The different hair spas are followed up by specific massage techniques. The seven custom-made hair- spas are:

Extra Care hair Spa: for hair exposed to chemical and physical processes.
Extra Care hair spa takes ultimate care of damaged and weak hair follicles with its unique combination of Proteins & Silicone Oil. This spa primarily consists of Curatec proteins which work effectively on the cuticle and cortex of the hair thus significantly strengthening the hair from within.

Color Shield Spa: For colored hair
The color shied hair therapy with its strong color stabilizers and sulphate-free ingredients works wonders on chemically treated hair. This contains Sodium PCA & Polyquarternium 37 which locks the color pigments to maintain the color shades for longer.

Moisture Boost Spa: For dry hair
Hair exposed to dust & dirt, bad weather condition, blow-dryers & straighteners are treated aptly with the Moisture Boost Hair Therapy. Ingredients like milk proteins & Panthenol Complex help balance & retain the natural moisture and prevents dehydration in the hair structure.

Smooth ‘n’ Soft Spa: For frizzy and unmanageable hair
This contains a Smooth Care and a Glazer Complex which spreads uniformly on the scalp and coats the hair with a fine layer thus smoothening down frizzy and unmanageable hair. It also prevents breakage of brittle hair thus making hair strong and resplendent.

Dandruff Control Spa: For hair with dandruff
This hair spa has Octipirox™ which is by far the most effective ingredient to fight against ones dandruff worries. This inhibits the dandruff causing germs and formation of visible flakes thus leaving behind a long-lasting clean and healthy scalp.

Growth Enhancing Spa: For hair loss
The ingredients in this Hair Spa Therapy stimulate the energy metabolism of the hair roots, add strength & activate hair growth. It increases the growth activity of hair making it grow faster and longer and also delays premature hair loss.

Ever young Hair Spa: For weak, thin and fragile hair
The combination of Q10 & Collagen in this Hair Spa Therapy helps to counterbalance the effects of aging by restoring and nourishing ones hair, bringing it back to its youthful composition, from within naturally.

All these looks and spas were given to Indian models, who walked the ramp as part of the grand finale to a glamorous evening.
