Leïla Bekhti is the New Face of L’Oréal Paris

Leïla Bekhti, a young star in French cinema, has just been named 'Most Promising Actress' at the Cesar awards 2011. The dazzling, audacious actress is joining the family of L’Oréal Paris Spokespersons. “Leïla’s beauty is both captivating and moving. Her charisma and her strong personality make her the perfect L’Oréal Spokeswoman,” says Cyril Chapuy, Global Brand President of L’Oréal Paris.

“I can remember L’Oréal products and ads being a part of my life even when I was very young. Joining this dream team and getting my chance to say “Because I’m worth it” in my very own way is just amazing,” says Leïla Bekhti.

Bekhti began a career in cinema almost by accident, and took her first steps in front of the camera for Kim Shapiron in the movie Sheitan in 2005, alongside Vincent Cassel. Her performance stood out, and she soon began to receive roles in a variety of movies. In 2005, she played the role of Leïla in the TV movie Harkis. In 2006, she was given the role of Zarka in the movie Paris JeT’aime. The same year, she had a role in the movie Mauvaise Foi.

The years 2008 and 2009 marked the turning point in her career, when she was awarded two supporting roles: the daughter of the fellagha in Jean François Richet’s Mesrine, and the role of Djamila in Jacques Audiard’s A
Prophet. The movie received several awards at the Cesar awards ceremony, and allowed the young actress to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in 2009.

Also in 2009, she met Géraldine Nakache, who wrote a role specifically for the actress in her first feature-length movie, Tout Ce Qui Brille. Bekhti shone in the movie and rapidly won the heart of the French population. For her role in the film, she was named «Most Promising Actress» by the French cinema industry at the 2011 Cesar awards – a clear indication that her peers recognized her.

Leïla Bekthi stars in La Source des Femmes, the new movie from Radu Mihaileanu (director of Live and Become, Le Concert) which is part of the official 64th Cannes Film Festival selection.

Leïla joined the L’Oréal Paris family as a Spokeswoman, joining Aishwarya Rai, Beyoncé Knowles, Rachel Weisz, Gwen Stefani, Freida Pinto, Jane Fonda, Aimee Mullins, Jennifer Lopez, Ines de la Fressange, Laetitia Casta and Patrick Dempsey.
