Mirari jewellery announced the sitar prodigy Anoushka Shankar as its brand ambassador.

There has been a natural affinity between the brand, its principal designer and founder, Mira Gulati, and Anoushka Shankar from the start. Their association started, when Mirari launched two years ago.

“Quite honestly, I can’t think of anybody more appropriate than Anoushka Shankar for Mirari,” said Mira Gulati. “Mirari is so much more than just another jewellery brand, so I wanted someone, who was much more than just a model or actress to represent our work,” added Ms. Gulati.

Mirari and Anoushka are international in their outlook, absorbing influences well beyond India, their country of inspiration. Both borrow from India’s rich traditions, without letting those traditions define them as they create their own interpretation of the new India in the new century.

“I genuinely love Mirari jewellery. It makes me feel really privileged. Mira’s work is exceptional and I’ve always felt that it deserved support,” said Anoushka Shankar.

Mirari and Anoushka Shankar equally hope to create a sum greater than its individual parts.
