Ekru presents ‘Bellavista’, which in Spanish means a ‘beautiful sight’. A flamboyantly chic collection embracing rich heritage of cross-cultures- Europe India and Mexico. It exudes vivid colorful Mexican folk culture, and the contemporary modern.
There is a significant use of brilliant colours which includes chocolate, black, turquoise, sea-green, red, plum, off-white etc with folkloric embroidery to create beautiful accents and sharp tailored silhouettes with a sophisticated touch.
On one hand there is floral embroidery in vibrant bright colors like red, orange, fuschia, turquoise blue, emerald and gold and at the same time a lot of tonal as well as unique colourful texturing has been used.
Ruffles, pleats, tuck and quilting adds a quirky touch to the collection. Thus a classic amalgamation of beautiful fabrics, intricate texturing, intense colour palette, dramatic detailing, and couture embroidery transcends a collection of structured modern western silhouettes into rich ethnic Indian silhouettes.
Watch the entire collection of Ekru on 22nd March at 1.30 pm at WIFW, Intercontinental Eros hotel, New Delhi.
