Ikat - The Jaggered Geometric Patterns

The word ‘ikat’ means ‘to bind’. This primitive craft is about creating designs in fabric by resist-dyeing the threads before the fabric is set to be woven. The people, their life and belief act as an inspiration, while creating patterns and motifs that has close resemblance to their lives.

The concept of this collection is to highlight India’s cultural heritage through contemporary fashion. Digitally printed ikat patterns have been combined with Arabic calligraphy motifs. The collection showcases our country’s diversity in cultures, ethnicities as well as cultural crafts.

The collection comprises of silken crepes, which have been further accentuated with hand embroideries to bring out both style and elegance.

The colour palette is handpicked and is a beautiful mix of cranberry, blue and plum with a hint of poppy red.

Kantha comprises of the simplest stitch in the language of embroidery- the running stitch. It is the way the stitch is used, in different arrangements, that forms the complete vocabulary of kantha.

Classic silhouettes, unconventional mix of motifs, textiles and colour, this collection is an ode to the women of today.

The eclectic mix of vibrant and muted hues blended with Indian folk designs makes the ensembles unusual and defines the personality of the wearer.

An exquisite collection of handmade and hand dyed batik fabric in silk, using the meticulous methodology, and the time honoured process of batik. Blending together with high quality of craftsmanship of the renowned south Indian weavers, we have explored a new dimension, making traditional designs richer, innovative and creating it a class apart from the rest.
