Just Cavalli launches its Spring Summer 2009 Collection

This year’s new Just Cavalli Eyewear collection by Marcolin is aimed at a more adult market in search of a modern and stylish look. An evolution of lines and details based on a new combination of elegance and creativity: the frames come in a wide range of styles ranging from the more classic and sportier models, to wraparound and grittier styles. A mix of styles that is perfectly evoked by the names of the ten families that make up the new collection, inspired by the world’s best-known cocktails.

The Manhattan, that most classic of cocktails, gives its name to a family of two frames (193S-194S) that combines acetate and metal. The common denominator is the presence of an elegant sweat bar on the front inscribed with the Just Cavalli logo.

The models in the Gin Tonic (195S-196S) family, aimed at both men and women, are more sporty in style and lively in terms of details. The metal JC monogram stands out on the aviator frame, and also features on the sides, which also include small metallic lines. More aggressive and decisive are the models that take the name of one of the “cooler” cocktails about, Sex on the beach.

Two frames (197S-198S) that not only catch the eye for their imposing size but also for the metal mesh detailing that runs right along the sides. Just one model – the most glamorous of all – comprises the Margarita family (200S): an intriguing mask rendered quite unique by the laser detailing that features on the lens frames as well as the sides. An acetate insert dotted with tiny studs gives the frame even greater character.

The members of the Caipirinha (201S-202S) and Gin Lemon (203S-204S) families are aimed at the ladies: more classically shaped frames enriched with extravagant touches such as little ellipses or hearts that contain the JC monogram. There is a real 80’s feel to the particular enveloping and linear form of the frames in the Long Island (205S) family. The smooth and regular surfaces bring out the logo, which joins together the front and the sides.

Completely different styles of frame for the Bloody Mary family (206S), where the rounder fronts hold sway and even the sides acquire an original convex effect. Squarer and more sober styles in the Rum & Cola family, with two frames (207S-208S) designed to hold graduated lenses, and enriched with very subtle personal touches.

Finally, a romantic metal heart covered in strass is the stand-out feature of the only model in the Shirley Temple family (209S).
