Romancing contrasts and capturing the quintessence of a union, ‘A Rendition of the Raj’ by NiveditaSaboo, magnificently showcased her interpretation of Colonial India at the fifth edition of Pune Fashion Week, 2014.

 

Miss Diva Universe 2014 NoyonitaLodh opened the show in a striking ash grey chantilly lace gown. Elevating the show in a stunning NiveditaSaboo finale outfit was model and actress Lisa Haydon, who graced the ramp as the perfect showstopper.Thismesmeric collection is inspired by the then Hindustan eraand India, during the British Raj. 

 

Through her collection, NiveditaSaboo wonderfully juxtaposed the divergent elements that not only depict the structural western silhouettes to perfection but also portray the beautiful fluidity of heritage Indian drapes, with ubiquitous flair. A scintillating collection created with some of the finest ingenious fabrics and surfaces that takes you back to a world of Colonial India, where sartorial secrets were exchanged amongst the natives and the company and imaginatively re-written, to give birth to a cross cultural style.
