Global beauty trends of 2012-2013

In an initiative to promote the Indian beauty industry, Blossom Kochhar Aroma Magic in association with the National Hairdressers and Beauticians Association (NHBA,India) yesterday organized India’s first educational beauty seminar ‘Trendz 2012-2013’ at the Indian Expo Centre, Greater Noida. The seminar was conducted for wellness and beauty market professionals across the country. The seminar showcased the global beauty trends of 2012-2013 through live demonstration of the work of leading industry experts across the globe. Michael Wijesuriya, a renowned designer and fashion consultant from Sri Lanka, Savio John Pereria, famous Bollywood hair stylist and Troy Watson, make-up designory, MUD showcased their skills in this seminar.
 
  Concepts like this and more are the brain child of Dr. Blossom Kochhar, President, National Hairdressers and Beauticians Association. Speaking at the event she said, “Organising the seminar was our way of increasing the platform of the beauty and wellness industry to an art form. 
 
 
We believe creativity has no limits, and that is why ongoing up-gradation of latest trends in the field of beauty is a must for people who are associated with the industry, or dream to be associated with the same.”
 
Michael Wijesuriya, a renowned designer and fashion consultant from Sri Lanka presented a full bridal look through a fashion show. He showcased five different types of bridal looks.
 
 
 
 
Michael Wijesuriya has enjoyed a career as couture designer, and for over two decades has won recognition both in Sri Lanka and overseas. He is the official designer for Miss Universe and Miss World for Sri Lanka. 
Savio John Pereria, celebrity and Bollywood hair stylist, who has been a part of the industry for 13 years, showcased the current trends in hair styling. He has been one of the pioneers in bringing professional hairdressing to the Indian market. His impressive client list includes Kangna Ranaut, Sonakshi Sinha, Preity Zinta, Ajay Devgun, Vijay Mallya, Urmilla Matondkar, and M.S. Dhoni, and many more.
 
 
 
  Troy Watson, make-up designory, MUD, educated the crowd by    showcasing different make-up techniques. His goal is to not only  make the make up designory brand well known and respected internationally, but to bring the highest quality education for the everyday consumer to forefront in the cosmetic industry.
 
 
The seminar created a new benchmark in India and gave a face-to-face platform to bring together professionals from the beauty industry. The event was a huge success and was attended by who-is-who of the beauty fraternity. 
 
 
NHBA India
National Hairdressers and Beauticians Association India was founded in 1987 by a group of beauty professionals who found it necessary to give the beauty industry a common platform. NHBA was the vision of renowned aroma therapist, beautician and hair designer Dr. Blossom Kochhar, who was determined to raise the industry to an art form.
 
Today 25 years later, NHBA has over 8000 members spread all across the country who are professional aestheticians and hair designers. The mandate is up gradation of knowledge and skills for professionals through education and competitions.
