Neon has developed into a summer wardrobe staple, the hues and popularity continue to soar. Use of neon adds a fun and groovy appeal to your everyday look.
Tips for incorporating neon into your attire:
Colours:
- Neon dressing is all about eye catchy, funky hues.
- Hot pink, lime green, citron yellow, electrified blue, turquoise, tangerine are examples of some popular neon shades.
Fabrics:
- Lightweight and flowing fabrics can be used for upper wear. They work well for sarees too.
- Try to use thicker fabrics for bottoms if you have heavy thighs. Thicker fabric will lend structure and caress your hips rather than a lightweight one that will cling to your hips and highlight your flaws.
Ways to wear neon:
- Pair these colours with softer tones to maintain contrast.
- Wear neon colours on the part of your body you want to define most, because it is eye catchy and will highlight that specific body part.
- Neon paired with either white or black are your best bets. Black forms a great background, while white is a great canvas to show off neon. The best examples of the same are white or cream coloured sarees with thick neon borders and neon work.
- For colour blocking with neon colours, choose colours with the same level of brightness.
- Choose your neon cautiously, keeping in mind your complexion and hair colour.
- Coordinate accessories that help to tone down the brightness of neon colours. Never match all your neon accessories with neon clothes.
- If you are colour shy then try funky neon coloured scarves with your pastel outfits to look cool.
- Choosing to wear a single piece of neon clothing with a neutral colour palette lets the bright colour to be the area of focus and gives a bold yet tame, controlled appearance.
