104 carat Forevermark diamond unveiled

The largest Forevermark diamond in the world has been unveiled by long-standing Forevermark Diamantaire and authorised Forevermark jeweller, Chow Tai Fook at a press event in Hong Kong yesterday. The spectacular 104-carat diamond was expertly cut and polished by master craftsmen at Chow Tai Fook, with the meticulous process that took three years to complete. It is a ‘D’ colour, internally flawless (DIF), round brilliant cut diamond with the highest possible cut grade of 3-excellent.

The diamond was graded and inscribed with the Forevermark icon and identification number by some of the world’s most accomplished diamond graders and gemmologists at the Forevermark Diamond Institute in Antwerp. They assessed the diamond no less than five times to ensure Forevermark’s strict beauty and symmetry requirements had been achieved. The diamond was given a bespoke inscription number 20090950755, chosen to signify the recovery date (200909) and the carat weight (507.55) of the rough diamond discovered in Southern Africa.

Stephen Lussier, Forevermark CEO remarked, “This is a truly extraordinary Forevermark diamond and showcases just how magnificent these treasures of nature can be. Forevermark diamonds like this are the epitome of our promise and commitment to beautiful, responsibly sourced diamonds of the highest quality.”

The 104-carat Forevermark diamond has been set in a stunning masterpiece ‘A Heritage in Bloom’ created by world renowned jewellery artist Wallace Chan. ‘A Heritage of Bloom’ embodies Chow Tai Fook’s commitment to Chinese culture, patronage of arts and status as a diamond expert. It can be worn in 27 different ways, a significance rooted in the Chinese concept of eternity.

Stephen Lussier adds, “We congratulate our esteemed partner, Chow Tai Fook on the creation of such a one-of-a-kind, magnificent diamond art piece and are delighted that this beautiful 104-carat DIF Forevermark diamond is now part of their prestigious collection.”

About Forevermark: Every Forevermark diamond is inscribed with a promise; a promise that it is beautiful, rare and responsibly sourced. Less than one per cent of the world’s diamonds are eligible to become a Forevermark diamond and be inscribed with the Forevermark icon and individual number. Forevermark is a diamond brand from The De Beers Group of Companies and as such, benefits from over 126 years of diamond expertise. Forevermark diamonds are carefully selected and come from sources committed to high standards; are beautifully crafted by a select group of Diamantaires; and are exclusively available from select authorised Forevermark jewellers.

Forevermark inscription and grading: Invisible to the naked eye, the inscription is made using bespoke technology from The De Beers Group of Companies. It is also recorded on the personalised Forevermark identification card, which comes with each and every Forevermark diamond. The actual size of the inscription found on Forevermark diamonds is only 1/20 th of a micron deep and can only be seen using a special Forevermark viewer which can be found in Authorised Forevermark Jewellers.  It is confirmed by leading gemmological institutes that the Forevermark inscription does not affect the internal quality of a diamond in any way.

Authorised Forevermark Jewellers are able to provide a Forevermark Diamond Grading Report.  It is an accurate blueprint of the qualities - cut, colour, clarity and caratage of each Forevermark diamond.  The Forevermark Diamond Grading Report also features the individual identification number inscribed on the diamond and a specifically designed security hologram, providing reassurance that the Forevermark Diamond Grading Report is valid and genuine.
