Indian Fashion Jewellery and Accessories show concluded

A three days specialised Indian Fashion Jewelleryand Accessories was organised by Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts in July.  The show was the 8th edition in the series of specialised shows organized by EPCH every year at India Expo Centre & Mart.  350 exhibitors drawn from all parts of the India participated in this show and displayed products, such as  fashionjewellery, semi precious jewellery, fashion accessories, hand bags, fancy and embroidered fashion shoes.

 

More than 450 buyer representatives in India visited the show to source their requirement.  Estimated business enquiries to the tune of Rs 110 crore were generated during three days show according toRakesh Kumar, Executive Director, EPCH.

 

One of the important features of the show was an exclusive display by primary producers of handcrafted products from Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Bareilly, Bhuj, Lucknow and Srinagar;NGO/Artisans from North East, Eastern, Western, Central, Southern and Northern regions.The objective of setting up of this display by primary producers was to enable the exporters and buyers to source new products for their supplies to foreign markets.  About 180 primary producers participated in this display.

 

Another important feature of IFJAS 2015 was the organisation of a special meeting between the primary producers and exporters with the intention to know each other and about the products being exported; new products, which can be sourced and new source of supplies for the exporters can be explored.  

 

Ajay Shankar Memorial awards, which were instituted in the memory of late Ajai Shankar, former development Commissioner (Handicrafts) were also distributed in two product categories to the participants for best designed and displayed stands. In fashion accessories categoriesEnkay Exports (India) Ltd, Agra received Gold award; Fashion Accessories(India), New Delhi received Silver award and Ajanta Exports House, Ghaziabad received bronze award. In Fashion jewellery categories SehajImpex, New Delhi received the Gold award;Sini Jewels, New Delhi received Silver award and ‘Anuva’ by Dileep Industries Pvt. Ltd., Jaipur received the bronze award.

 

A seminar on ‘Trends and Fashions 2017’ was also organized during the show in which well established designers gave their presentation before the participants so that they could upgrade themselves for future trends.  Mehera Blum from Bluemera and KamleshPangtey from Pearl Academy apprised the participants for the demand of products in the markets.

 

The exports of fashion jewellery and accessories  touched Rs.3840.60 croresin the year 2014-15 against Rs.3036.68 crores in the year 2013-14.
