Converse announces original music hunt in India

Converse, a brand associated with today’s youth now brings ‘The Original Band’ hunt, a first of its kind search for original music by upcoming bands who are passionate about their music.

Converse has undertaken an initiative for the amateur bands and avid original music lovers, by providing them an opportunity to showcase their talent. Converse is searching for a band that defies genres and can hold an audience with an original composition. This hunt will be held across some key cities in India, over a series of rounds and finally one band will claim the ‘Original Band’ title.

Converse Original Band first event will be held in New Delhi on 30 October at Ansal Plaza, with subsequent performances to be held in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Guwahati.

The band/ contestants can register by visiting any Planet Sports or Converse store and fill in the registration form. Online registration is also available through www.converse.buzzintown.com. The applying bands are required to submit their original composition along with the registration.

The entries will be scanned and shortlisted by a panel of judges from the music fraternity. The shortlisted bands will be called to perform live at the designated venue in the cities where the event will happen.

The Delhi registrations are open till 23rd October. The selection criteria for the band members is that should be over 18 yrs of age and the music shall be an original composition in any genre. The winning bands from each city will get a chance to feature on The Original Music Album, by Converse India.
